When I say home comforts, I’m not talking soft furnishings, snuggly cushions or voluminous throws. Nope, I’m talking about the sort of gorgeous stuff that makes home feel like home, always makes you feel happy however many times you look at it and brings joy to someone like me, who is aesthetically obsessive and MUST be surrounded by visual treats. Useful or decorative, it doesn’t matter, here are some simply beautiful things that I’ve either splurged upon, stumbled upon or am wish listing.
Thank you Pure for bringing stylish technology into the home with the Evoke Mio, I mean, a digital radio this pretty deserves a high five. The collaboration with Sanderson late this summer, resulted in two iconic prints (shown here ‘Dandelion Clocks’, also available the blousy ‘Chelsea’ floral print) decorating the latest offering from the brand. Needless to say, this is on the wishlist.

An empty, ornamental frame is the perfect way to showcase any little collectables you find, and what’s more you can change up the focus as and when you choose. I check out ‘The Bali Shop’ on a regular basis for treats just like this…

Decorative metalwork is one of my many interior passions. Walls come alive with these organic, textured pieces of art. Mine came via one of my favourite local secret addresses, Big Sky in the tiny village of Great Missenden, but you can also shop online and buy direct from PJH Garden Furniture. I’d recommend checking out both sites.

Ok, so sometimes pretty things come free. Well sort of. An empty jam jar and some dried hydrangeas from the garden are just one way to add a touch of pretty to a shelf or bathroom window sill. Recycling of sorts. Oh and thank you Wilkin & Sons Ltd for this delicious jam jar. Heritage packaging rocks.
Be it for the love of book jacket art or just nostalgia for literature you love, ‘Postcards from Penguin’ is a GREAT GIFT. 100 book jackets in one box. A great way of being reminded of how wonderful graphic design can look, as digital mediums of consumption continue to steal the tactile joy of this art form.

For a lover of all things bohemian, these gorgeous little books are a must. Yes, it’s the richer side of the boho tracks for travelling artists and bon vivants, but I guess that’s why the ‘gypset’ moniker was coined. You’ll want the houses, clothes and lifestyles, fact.

A cuckoo clock, but not as you know it. Snow white and sculptured, this brings a designer touch to any wall. Made by Diamantini & Domeniconi it’s a future classic.

A bit of a curve ball, but trust me, once you’ve splurged on this TOTALLY indulgent hand wash, you’ll pretend you can’t see the price when you go back for more. It’s a luxury, granted, but I now can’t bear my bathroom or kitchen sinks being without it. Scent from heaven.

Easy to find in most bric a brac and rambling antique centres, vintage bottles make a splash of easy colour in little corners. A spring of dried lavender or bloom from the garden, et voila. These came from the well known Berkhamsted home of antiques, Home & Colonial, worth a visit if you’re heading out for a pub lunch in the country. Online check out…
Metal letters? On the wall, on the floor, in the garden – you choose. These are just a very modern way to add a quirky touch to your home. I have the S…now for the V. Check out The Old Flight House who currently have these vintage pieces in stock, I’m sure they’ll help with online sales. Otherwise this home of antiques is just around the corner from Bicester Village and is well worth a visit for beautifully curated finds and a cool cafe pitstop. Scroll down for a visual feast of finds I snapped there just today.
