As the heatwave continues The Stylish Stuff celebrates natural and cruelty-free skincare that goes that extra mile to hydrate and protect, plus we showcase our edit of ex-model turned jewellery designer Kaaren Buchanan’s latest collection. Crafted in gold plate, silver and featuring semi-precious stones such as opals, lapis and zircon these are the perfect pieces to layer up and wear with sunbleached colours and glowing skin.
Golden Girl – it’s okay to stack your earrings, in fact, the more the better. From teeny little studs to big, bold hoops and ‘no-need-for-piercing’ cuffs – it’s a question of just how far you’re happy to go.
Earring Cuff, £45; Tiny Pin Studs, £27; Dancer Hoop earrings, £196; Baby Balloon ring,£62
Yes you can – wear drop earrings with layered studs and cuffs and yes it really is fine to mix your metals.
Good things come in twos – and that includes layered necklaces and bangles – opt for differing sized pendants for a balanced look.
The key to hydrated, glowing skin? Great serums that pack a hydrating punch; a regular deep cleanse with a nutritive cleansing masque and of course, sunscreen to make sure only the healthy rays get through.
Pai Back to Life Hydration Serum, £42; Evolve Organic Beauty Radiant Glow Mask £20; Odylique Natural Sun Screen £25.
Make up artist Lillie Lindh’s tips for keeping your skin in tip-top condition during the heatwave; 1. spritz your skin with a good face mist before applying your serum and moisturiser in the morning; 2. spend a little time massaging your moisturiser into your skin – use upward strokes as this helps wake up your skin and drain excess fluid, it makes for plump looking skin rather than puffy; 3. leave ten minutes for all the goodness to sink in before you apply your make up.
Glow Getter – with more skin on show during the summer, make sure you’ve prepped it with a good body scrub that scuffs off dead skin cells and moisturises into the bargain; for an extra dose of hydration a rich body oil is the perfect overnight body treat.
Natural Spa Factory Yuzu, Pink Beets & Watermelon Body Scrub £20; Olio E Osso Lustero Body Oil £57.
Good things come in threes – Amly Botanicals have become a firm Stylish Stuff favourite simply because their natural approach to beauty really produces results. From the mineral-rich water flowing through their face mist collection to the essential oils hand blended in their serums and super-fine face oils – these are products that treat your skin with the respect it deserves. One of the handbag sized face mists is an absolute essential in this hot weather.
Amly Botanical Radiance Boost Face Mist, £45 (100ml); City Screen Protective Face Serum £62; Day Light Super-Fine Face Oil, £72.
